Need for Speed Underground 2 in the browser
Underground 2 has two browser routes (our Need for Speed Underground 2 browser guide covers both in depth): a PC port called Underground 2 Revived at nfsu2.xyz, and a PS2 build at nfsunderground2.site. The PC port advertises up to 120 fps in widescreen, free roam and online races with friends, controllers, wheels and touch controls. According to the project, it supports crews (up to 4), friends' rooms, ghost mode, profile backup/restore, and optional cloud saves by passphrase. In-game save: Esc/Start > Garage > Save.
The nfsu2.xyz site streams the game data itself, so you supply no files. If you want to build it yourself from the GitHub repository (th0mk/nfsu2-web), you need your own PC copy patched to v1.2 NA with SPEED2.EXE. The project's licence is MIT per the README.
The PS2 version at nfsunderground2.site runs directly in Chrome or Edge with WebAssembly and WebGL, keyboard and gamepad. The project says it offers private 1v1 rooms with a share code plus chat. On phones it depends on WebAssembly threads support, according to the project.
For controls, saves and the PC-vs-PS2 choice in one place, read our full NFSU2 setup, controls and saves guide.
Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) in the browser
Most Wanted (2005) has three browser routes. Most Wanted Online (web.nfsmwo.com) offers the whole game: the career with the Blacklist, quick races, and online multiplayer. The operator's guide says single player doesn't even need an account (free MWO account, Google or Discord to save the career to it). The project lists Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android with touch controls, add to Home Screen, 60 fps or 144 fps, 17 languages, online free roam with unlimited players, races up to 16, Race Now matchmaking with a leaderboard, Rockport RP cops vs racers; free, with donation perks (premium cars, name tag). The web client shows ad slots and a "Remove ads" button.
dezm0n's web port (dezm0n.itch.io/nfs-most-wanted-web-port, also at justplayweb.com/game/nfs-most-wanted/) is an experimental browser port of the original PC game, powered by WebAssembly and WebGPU. The project says use current desktop Chrome or Edge, "Run game → Start game"; game files load automatically and stay cached. Autosave and manual saves in browser storage; export/import under Files & saves → Manage; defaults are maximum graphics at 1920×1080. The project marks online/LAN modes as unsupported and says full-career driving and race-end autosave need further testing. Recent comments report lag on a gaming laptop, a "browser storage full" (~4 GB) issue, and a multi-day file-server outage.
NFSMW Online (nfsmwonline.com) is an account-based client (name + password) in the browser, plus PC and Android launchers, with Casual and Ranked online. We could not fetch nfsmwonline.com ourselves (timeouts); the information comes from third-party sources dated 2026-10-23 and 2026-10-29.
Most Wanted 2005 is not the same as Most Wanted 2012 (Criterion, Fairhaven). No browser version of MW 2012 was found.
Need for Speed Underground (2003)
Underground (2003) has a work-in-progress browser port at github.com/yurasmetanka/nfsu1web: "Need for Speed: Underground (2003), recompiled for the browser with WebAssembly and WebGPU. Work in progress." Created 2026-10-23, 11 stars, last push 2026-10-28. There is no hosted version; it needs your own PC files and a local build.
The official PC demo for Underground appears in BottleShip (bottleship.happydog.games), a "WebGPU ready · x86 HLE · WASM · 46 games · Local only — your games never leave this machine" library. The demo is built in; you supply no files.
The 1995 original and Porsche Unleashed
The Need for Speed (1995 MS-DOS original) reportedly runs on DOS.Zone (dos.zone/the-need-for-speed-sep-1995/) with no install or account, according to playgamesinbrowser. DOS.Zone itself timed out (504) for us, so we have not verified this.
Porsche Unleashed (2000) only appears as an official PC demo in BottleShip. NFS III: Hot Pursuit appears via a v86/Windows 98 personal site and "unblocked" farms, and Porsche Unleashed appears on PS1-emulator ROM sites. These host commercial game images; we don't link them.
NFS games you can't play in a browser yet
NFS Carbon only has native recompiled ports (Android: codepdbh/NFS-CARBON-360-ANDROID-RECOMP; others for Switch, macOS and Linux). No WebGPU/browser port was found. Hot Pursuit 2, ProStreet, Undercover, Shift, World, MW 2012, Heat, and Unbound: no browser route found.
Playing Need for Speed online with friends in a browser
Underground 2 PC (nfsu2.xyz) advertises online free roam and races with friends, crews up to 4, friends' rooms, and ghost mode. The PS2 Underground 2 site offers 1v1 private rooms with a share code plus chat. Most Wanted Online (web.nfsmwo.com) lists online free roam with unlimited players, races up to 16, Race Now matchmaking with a leaderboard, and Rockport RP cops vs racers. NFSMW Online (nfsmwonline.com) has Casual and Ranked online, according to third-party sources. dezm0n's Most Wanted port marks online/LAN as unsupported.
We have not tested online gameplay ourselves; these are the projects' claims. For another driving game, see The Simpsons: Hit & Run, another driving game in your browser.
Phones, tablets and Chromebooks
nfsu2.xyz now advertises a touch mode: tap the game's menus, touch controls show while you drive, plus tilt steering. We have not tested a phone run. The PS2 Underground 2 site says on phones it depends on WebAssembly threads support. Most Wanted Online advertises iPhone and Android with touch controls. dezm0n's Most Wanted port is desktop only. DOS.Zone and BottleShip phone support: not verified.
What you need: browser, WebGPU and storage
These ports need WebGPU or WebGL with hardware acceleration in a current desktop Chrome or Edge. nfsu2.xyz says Firefox with WebGPU also works for Underground 2. Check chrome://gpu, update the GPU driver, avoid VMs/Remote Desktop, and leave several GB of browser storage free. On dual-GPU laptops, dezm0n's project mentions passing --force_high_performance_gpu to Chrome.
The Underground 2 PC port is a hosted site with a Play button; you supply no files. The GitHub self-build needs your own PC copy patched to v1.2 NA with SPEED2.EXE. The Underground 2 PS2 build is a separate fan project; for background on a related approach, read how PS2 games are recompiled for the browser.
Saves and progress
Saves live in your browser's storage; don't clear site data. nfsu2.xyz offers profile backup and optional cloud saves by passphrase; in-game save is Esc/Start > Garage > Save. dezm0n's Most Wanted port has export/import under Files & saves → Manage. Most Wanted Online saves the career to a free account.
About 'Need for Speed unblocked'
These are ordinary websites; school or work networks may block them. We don't run mirrors or proxies and don't offer filter workarounds. Avoid sites that re-host game files with heavy ads or launchers.
Is this official, legal and safe?
Every route is an unofficial fan project; EA has released no browser version of any of these titles. The GitHub projects ship code only. Hosted sites stream game data that EA has not licensed to them. tabgamehub policy: link to the original project, never embed or host files. Watch out for re-hosting mirrors with heavy ads/launchers.
How we checked these games
On 2026-11-02 we opened nfsu2.xyz in headless Chrome 156 on Linux (software WebGPU) and the launcher reached "Ready" with the Play button, Saves/Online/Friends & crews/Controls tabs, and cloud-save passphrase field. We did not press Play, did not reach a race, did not test online, phones, or any other project. For every other project we only read its public pages; their claims are labelled "the project says" or "according to". Read how we check games.

Is there an official EA Need for Speed browser game?
No. Every route here is an unofficial fan project; EA has not released or licensed these browser versions.
Do I need to own the game or upload files?
Not for the hosted routes; they load the game data themselves. The GitHub source projects (nfsu2-web, nfsu1web) need your own PC copy if you build them yourself.
